Welp, looks like we can add “R” for “rehab” to the acronym GTL for Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino.
Sorrentino says that he’s voluntarily seeking to “take control” of medication he was taking to deal with exhaustion. Funny, we didn’t think Red Bull classified as a prescription drug.
Anyway, Sorrentino, 29, says that he has “spent the past several weeks getting treatment for this problem and recuperating from my work and appearance schedule.” MTV has said that they have no comment on the situation (no pun intended) and is looking forward to the entire cast returning for a sixth season of the reality show. Well… “reality” show.
Sorrentino is reportedly at the Cirque Lodge in Utah for treatment, according to various sources. One of those sources speaking out about Sorrentino? Surpisingly, it’s his father – who (we’re not making this up) calls himself “The Confrontation.”
The elder Sorrentino speaks openly about the problems that have plagued his son – who first allegedly entered rehab three years ago. “For me, after years of dealing with his addiction, years of dealing with all the bulls**t, this wasn’t a 16 year old kid. The guy was a 27 year old man. I was just hoping he would be able to stand up,” said (we can’t laugh without typing this) The Confrontation.
When speaking of his son’s first time dealing with addiction, Papa Sorrentino (that sounds like a restaurant) said: “When Mikey was in rehab we found the facility for him in Florida and we brought him down here and did a 7 day dry out period. Then he went to another facility for 30 days. I did all the leg work in Florida to make sure he got here and to make sure that we secured a spot because he so desperately needed help.”
But rehab? What rehab? The Situation’s rep says he’s not in rehab for substance abuse, end of story. Sorrentino himself says that the story is full of “ridiculous embellishments” and compared it to “the childhood game of telephone – someone hears a small rumor and blows it out of proportion.”
Rumors. Right.
