Looks like a 25 million dollar settlement didn’t settle all of the issues between Charlie Sheen and Warner Bros. “What’s going on now?” you ask? Well, here is where we’ll tell you!
Sheen is being accused of using photographs of himself to promote his upcoming comedy “Anger Management” – but there’s just one issue. And no, the issue isn’t that Charlie Sheen is playing a therapist. The issue is that photos he’s using happen to be owned by Warner Bros. It seems as if Sheen was at a recent TV convention (those exist?) to promote the upcoming series (based on the film of the same title) and Warner Bros isn’t happy that Charlie would use “Two and a Half Men” photos to help out a competitor; the new series will debut on FX. The company has since sent Sheen a cease-and-desist letter.
Additional news on the upcoming series: Selma Blair was recently cast to star on the show as a fellow therapist – and Charlie’s “friend with benefits.” Also cast for the show is Shawnee Smith (of “Saw” fame) as Sheen’s ex-wife. Charlie, of course, will play a therapist who leads two different therapy groups – one in prison, and one on the outside.
How’s this show going to be received? Who knows… and FX is well aware of that/ The network initially ordered 10 episodes, and as long as those episodes hit a certain ratings mark, they’ll greenlight the series for an unheard of 90 additional episodes.
A premiere date has not yet been set for the series; production is rumored to start in March.
