California authorities are reportedly wondering if Justin Bieber was at fault for zooming down an L.A.-area freeway at more than 80 miles per hour last Friday. Although highway patrolmen on the scene stopped and cited the Biebs in the incident, TMZ is reporting that higher-ups in the department say that may not have been the right choice, calling Justin the victim of paparazzi. One official even said, "This was like a Princess Diana situation."
Justin has filed a formal complaint against the photographer who was chasing him, but a California Highway Patrol spokesman tells TMZ prosecution is "unlikely."
The 911 call Bieber made when paparazzi were following him on Friday has been released, and in it the teen singing sensation can be heard telling a dispatcher that photographers were again pursuing him recklessly on a Los Angeles freeway. Listen to the call:
